THE STREAK IS OVER: RANGERS LOSE 5-4

Well, it had to happen eventually...the Rangers win streak ends at 4 games as they lose to Baltimore this afternoon 5-4. This was another sub par pitching performance for Kevin Millwood, and the early lead the Rangers had couldn't hold as the Baltimore pitching stepped up to freeze the Rangers bats late in the game.

- David Murphy has been Mr. Reliable this August, as he hit a 2-run homer in the 1st to give the Rangers an early lead.

- Andrus was credited with a triple when his liner to right was lost in the sun by Markakis, and Byrd followed with a sacrifice fly.

- What's wrong with Millwood? Today he allowed five runs in five innings and struggled most of the day, giving up seven hits and four walks. He has won only two of his last 11 starts, which is not what you expect from your veteran "ace".

The good news is the Red Sox also lost again today, so we won't move in the wild card standings, but the Angels win, so the standings are:

AL WEST
Angels --
Rangers 4.5

AL WILD CARD
Red Sox --
Rangers 2.0
