With Boston idle today and the Angels losing to the Yankees, tonight was a good opportunity to get a win and boost thier standings. Unfortunately, things quickly fell apart in this game as the Rangers lose 9-0.
- Scott Feldman cruised through five shutout innings, but then ran into trouble. He took the loss after allowing six runs on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
- The bats were silent tonight. We managed to get a few on base, but then we left them there and couldn't bring them home. The A's Tomko threw a shutout allowing five hits and striking out three with no walks.
- The Rangers have lost three of their first four on a nine-game homestand, falling 4 1/2 games behind Boston for the AL wild card. It’s the farthest the Rangers have been out of a playoff spot all season. Full standings below:
