COMEBACK FIZZLES; RANGERS LOSE 18-10

Was it a full moon to help explain how bizarre this game was tonight? We saw Derek Holland leave the game down 10-0 in the 4th, only to have a crazy comeback rally to pull within one [11-10], which led into the disastrous 9th inning where Toronto put the game away for good at 18-10. whew...

- Derek Holland had his worst outing as a Ranger starting, giving up 5 runs in the top of the 1st and a grand slam in the 4th. He had poor command of his pitches and walked 3 batters, all of which Toronto capitalized on in runs.

- Teagarden looked awesome at catcher tonight, easily throwing out two batters attempting to steal second base. He also hit well tonight, breaking a slump with patience and timely hitting.

- Never say die! Although the final score won't reflect it, I love that this year's team never quits on a game. Being down 11-0 in the 5th is a daunting task, but the Rangers managed to methodically peck away at the score to get within one run. That 9th inning was the nail in the coffin as the Rangers could not get the final out, allowing the Blue Jays 7 runs.

- O'Day was the best looking Rangers pitcher in the game tonight, going 2 full innings in relief without giving up a run and 3 strikeouts.

The Red Sox were off tonight, but the Angels win again, so the standing change to:

AL WEST
Angels --
Rangers 6.0

AL WILD CARD
Red Sox --
Rangers 4.0
