ROY WILLIAMS INJURED IN COWBOY'S PRACTICE

Roy Williams collided with Orlando Scandrick after running a slant
route and banged up his left shoulder. Williams was getting examined as practice continued. The players were not in pads during the two-hour workout.

Williams immediately grabbed his shoulder as he went to the ground and was slow to get up. He was examined by head athletic trainer Jim Maurer before heading inside the locker room.

Wade Phillips didn't shed much light on the situation immediately after practice.
"I don't know about Roy," Phillips said. "He banged his left shoulder a little bit, and they're checking on him."

The Cowboys later confirmed that Williams suffered a shoulder injury. No word on the severity yet. The team will provide an update tomorrow.

UPDATE
The official diagnosis on Roy Williams is that he has a contusion on
his left shoulder. That's a fancy word for a bruise, so he avoided serious injury and should be fine for the season opener...
